About the event
We are excited to offer an invitation to you and other landowners of properties larger than 40 hectares to attend a seminar dedicated to Landscape Regeneration. This event will delve into the significant benefits that this strategy promises for both individual landowners and the broader community of our shire.
Explore the costs, benefits, and objectives of this groundbreaking initiative, including:-
- Achieving carbon neutrality in Wingecarribee Shire by offsetting its entire CO2 emissions through carbon sequestration.
- Enhancing water quality for the Warragamba Dam catchment through improved filtration.
- Increasing water capture in the subsoil, slowing runoff, enhancing flood control, and delaying water flow in the catchment.
- Boosting the green cover across the catchment, which helps in reducing bushfire intensity, promoting rainfall, and slowing harmful wind velocity.
- Enhancing drought resistance with a further year of resilience for every 1.5% increase in soil organic carbon.
- Decreasing the use of chemicals and synthetic fertilizers, contributing to better community health and water quality downstream with increased in product price point.
- Expanding wildlife corridors and marine flowlines, aiding the restoration of natural habitats.
- Generating direct income for the Landowner from carbon credits through the Federal CER program.
- Improving economic outcomes for landowners with lower costs and higher productivity, leading to better return on investment.
- Marketing local produce as superior in nutritional value, benefiting the Sydney basin.
- Establishing Wingecarribee Shire as the leading centre for Landscape Regeneration in Australia.
- Boosting eco-tourism with opportunities for farm stays, tours, and produce sales.
- Supporting the Southern Highlands KSHG's goals for the equine industry.
- Increasing land value through enhanced sustainability and environmental stewardship.
